Sermon 1: Church Members Should Be Taught To Continue Steadfastly In The Apostles Teaching. Acts 2:42.
Interlinear Translation: “And they were steadfastly
continuing in the teaching of the apostles,”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: AND THEY (early Christians) = to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire, by analogy to blow air as naturally circumambient, air, the reflexive pronoun self of the third person, themselves, those, together. CONTINUED STEADFASTLY = toward, to be earnest towards, i.e. to a thing to persevere, be constantly diligent or in a place to attend assiduously all the exercises, or to a person to adhere closely to as a servitor, attend, give self continually upon, continue in, continue instant in, continue with, wait on continually. IN THE APOSTLES = a delegate, specially an ambassador of the Gospel, officially a commissioner of Christ, messenger, he that is sent. DOCTRINE = instruction the act or the matter, hath been taught, a prolific causative form of a primary verb to learn, to teach in the same broad application, teach.
