King James Translation: “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”

Interlinear Translation: “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened. For also our Passover for us was sacrificed Christ.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “PURGE = clean origin, to cleanse thoroughly. OUT = origin the point whence motion or action proceeds. THEREFORE = certainly or conjunction accordingly, and so, and truly, now then, wherefore. THE OLD = antique, i.e. not recent, worn out, retrocession, ancient, any while, a great while ago, in time past. LEAVEN = ferment as if boiling up, to be hot, boil of liquids, glow of solids, be fervid, be fervent. THAT YE MAY BE A NEW = a primary word new i.e. of persons, youthful, of things fresh, figuratively regenerate, young. LUMP = to mix a liquid with a solid, swelling in bulk, mean to knead, a mass of dough. AS YE ARE UNLEAVENED = uncorrupted. FOR EVEN CHRIST OUR PASSOVER = a pretermission, i.e. exemption, offering. IS SACRIFICED FOR US = to rush, breathe hard, blow, smoke, i.e. to immolate, slaughter, kill, sacrifice, slay.
