King James Translation: “Brethern, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”

Interlinear Translation: “Brethern, not children be in your minds, but in malice be babes, but in your minds full grown be.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “BRETHERN = union, the womb, a brother near or remote much like alpha, from alpha as a connective particle, the first, privation, same time, close association, also, and, together, withal. BE NOT = I exist not. CHILDREN = a child specially a slave or servant, especially a minister to a king and by eminence to God, an immature Christian. IN UNDERSTANDING = to reign in or curb, the midriff as a partition of the body, i.e. figuratively and by implication of sympathy, the feelings or sensitive nature, by extension the mind or cognitive faculties. HOWBEIT = other things, adverb contrariwise in many relations, and, but, indeed, nevertheless, therefore, yea, yet. IN MALICE = badness, i.e. depravity, malignity, or passive trouble, evil, naughtiness, wickedness, worthless, depraved, injurious, bad, harm, noisome. BE YE CHILDREN = to act as a babe, i.e. innocently, be a child. BUT IN UNDERSTANDING = (see above). BE MEN = complete in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, completeness, of full age, perfect (mature), to set out for a definite point or goal, the point aimed out as a limit, i.e. by implication the conclusion of an act or state of termination, result purpose immediate, ultimate or prophetic, an impost or levy as paid, continual, custom, finally, uttermost.
