Interlinear Translation: “but commends his own love to us God, still sinners being we Christ for us died. Much therefore more, having been justified now by his blood, we shall be saved by him from wrath. For if, enemies being we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled we shall be saved by his life.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: V8: “BUT GOD COMMENDETH = union stand, to set together, to introduce favorably, to exhibit, to stand near, to constitute, approve, consist, make, stand with. HIS LOVE = affection or benevolence, a love-feast, charity, dear. TOWARD US = to or into indicating the point reached or entered of place, time, purpose or result, abundantly, among, concerning, continual, exceeding for intensive purposes, of one mind, throughout, used only with verbs expressing motion. IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS = sinful, to miss the mark and so not share in the prize, i.e. err especially morally to sin, for your faults, offend, trespass. CHRIST DIED FOR US = die off, be dead, death, lie a-dying, be slain. V9: “MUCH MORE THEN = more in a greater degree or rather better, far the more, much the more. BEING NOW JUSTIFIED = to render, i.e. show or regard as just or innocent, free, justifier, be righteous. BY HIS BLOOD = figuratively the juice of grapes or specifically the atoning blood of Christ, by implication bloodshed, also kindred. WE SHALL BE SAVED = safe, i.e. deliver or protect, heal, preserve, do well, be or make whole. FROM WRATH THROUGH HIM = desire as a reaching forth or excitement of the mind, violent passion, ire or abhorrence, punishment, indignation, vengeance, wrath. V10: FOR IF, WHEN WE WERE ENEMIES = to hate, hateful, odious, act hostile, foe. WE WERE RECONCILED = to change mutually, to compound a difference.
