“Teach Them The Statutes” Exodus 18:20: Series: Membership Training:

 

Interlinear Translation: “And you warn them as to the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way should in it walk and the work which they should do.”

 

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “AND THOU SHALT TEACH THEM = to gleam, figuratively to enlighten by caution, admonish, shine, give warning. ORDINANCES = an enactment hence an appointment of time, space, quantity, labor or usage, appointed, bound, commandment, convenient, custom, decree, due, law, measure, portion, statute, task.  AND LAWS = a statute or precept, the Decalogue, Pentateuch, a manner as a sort of turn, estate. AND SHALT SHEW THEM = to know and to ascertain by seeing, observation, care, recognition, causative instruction, designation, acknowledge, be aware, comprehend, consider, be diligent, cause to discern, cause to discover, cause to be endured with, understand. THE WAY WHEREIN = a road as trodden, figuratively a course of life or mode of action, by conversation, custom, journey, manner, passenger, through, toward, highway, pathway, wayside, whithersoever. THEY MUST WALK = to carry, bear, bring, come away, depart, flow, get away, cause to make go away, march, pursue, cause to run, vanish. AND THE WORK THAT THEY MUST DO = operative, to do or make, accomplish, advance, appoint, become, bear, bring forth, be busy, have the charge of, commit, execute, exercise, fashion, finish, furnish, gather, be industrious, labour, maintain, make, be occupied, perform, prepare, procure, provide, sacrifice, serve, spend, trim, workman.
