“Teach Faithful Men Who Are Able to Teach Others” II Timothy 2:2:
Interlinear Translation: “And the things which thou didst hear of me with many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, such as competent shall be also others to teach.”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: AND THE THINGS = deed, by implication an affair, by extension an object (material), business, matter, thing, work, practice, i.e. perform repeatedly or habitually. WHICH THOU HAST HEARD = give in the audience of, come to the ears, be noised, be reported, understand. OF ME AMONG MANY WITNESSES = a martyr, record. THE SAME COMMIT = near place, to place alongside, i.e. present, by implication to deposit as a trust or for protection, allege, commend, commit the keeping of, put forth, set before. THOU TO FAITHFUL MEN = trustworthy, trustful, believing, sure, true, to convince by argument, by analogy to pacify or conciliate by other fair means, to assent to evidence or authority, to rely by inward certainty, agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be or was confident, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. WHO SHALL BE ABLE = to arrive, competent as if coming in season, i.e. ample in amount or fit in character, enough, security, sore, sufficient, worthy. TO TEACH = a prolific causative form of a primary verb to learn, to teach in the same broad application. OTHERS ALSO = different, altered, else, next day, another, some, strange.
