THE PRINCIPLES = a commencement or chief in various applications of order, time, place, or rank, beginning, corner, at the first estate, magistrate, power, rule, principality. OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST = something said including the thought, subject of discourse, reasoning or motive, computation, divine expression, account, communication, concerning doctrine, intent, matter, preaching, question, reckon, remove, things that move me, tidings, treatise, work, word.
