Interlinear Translation: “A woman in quietness let learn in all subjection; but a woman to teach I do not allow, nor to exercise authority over man, but to be in quietness;”

 

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “LET = to hold down fast, keep in memory, make toward, possess, retain, seize on, stay, take, withhold; demolition, extinction, destruction, pulling down to hold. THE WOMAN = a woman specifically a wife, to cause to be generate, i.e. to become, come into being. LEARN = to learn in any way, understand. IN SILENCE = stillness, i.e. desistance from bustle or language, quietness, keeping one’s seat, sedentary, i.e. still undisturbed, undisturbing, peaceable, quiet. WITH = denoting union, together, i.e. by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession, instrumentality, addition, completeness. ALL = a primary word any, every, the whole, all manner of, all means of, as many as, throughly, whatsoever, whole. SUBJECTION = subordination, to obey, be under obedience, obedient, put under, subdue unto, be subject to, make subject unto, be put in subjection, submit self unto, arrange under. BUT I SUFFER NOT = not to turn over or transfer i.e. not allow, not give leave, not give liberty, not give license, not let, not permit.
