SCRIPTURE = a document, holy writ or its contents or a statement in it. IS GIVEN = adventure, bestow, bring forth, commit, deliver up, grant, make, minister, offer, put, receive, set, shew, suffer, take, utter, yield. BY INSPIRATION OF GOD = divinely breathed in. AND IS PROFITABLE = helpful or serviceable, i.e. advantageously, profit. FOR DOCTRINE = instruction the function or the information, learning, teaching. FOR REPROOF = proof, conviction, evidence. FOR CORRECTION = a straightening up again, i.e. figuratively rectification, reformation, gain right up. FOR INSTRUCTION = tutorage, i.e. education or training, by implication disciplinary correction, chastening, chastisement, instruction, nurture. IN RIGHTEOUSNESS = equity of character or act, specially Christian justification.
