It struck me as I snapped this picture how the old is reflected
in the new in this city of progress from an industrial city with huge
old buildings telling it's history to the new modern one depicting
the 'banking industry'. There were groups of men/women
on the streets in suites. Such a contrast.

Queens Park Baptist Church, located in the old section of Glasgow.
We stayed in the Queens Hotel located just across the street from the church.
We discovered later that it used to be a home for the street people and someone had renovated it into a hotel. A basic needs place, nothing fancy except for the murals on the sitting room wall of Braveheart.

Jim and I had the opportunity to speak here to approximately 500 people.
A very friendly group welcomed us. I shall never forget the pastor's wife
and her stories of ministering to the street people, prostitutes,
and homeless. She takes blankets and food and coffee to them and
many have come to know the Lord through her ministry. God Bless her always.

My favorite picture in the museum in Glasgow. It depicts the Scots leaving in route to Pictou,  Nova Scotia.  This copy of the picture does not do it justice, as you cannot see the expressions of each person as well as you can looking into each face of the original piece of art. It tells the story of the old, the women and the young who traveled that horrible trip to escape Scotland in bad days. It is worth reading about the history. In the original picture the little child's face is aglow with hope and the old man's face portrays the sadness of leaving his homeland. It shows the strength of the young men and the fear of the young women and the prayers of the older women. The Museum was my favorite place in Glasgow. I wish everyone could go to Scotland.
