"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision." (Joel 3-14)

The twentieth century saw the greatest explosion of knowledge, communication, scientific advance, travel and information the world has ever seen.   It was also the century where approximately 170,000,000 died in war and oppression of the Total State.  As Charles Dickens says in the Tale of Two Cities, "it was the best of times and it was the worst of times".

In America, the forces of evil are growing and those with truth and courage to stand are few and far between. Many Americans are betraying the heritage given to them by their ancestors and are consumed by the greed of the 'money chase'.  Years of work by liberal educators, the religious left, socialists of all types, homosexual activists, radical feminists, judicial activists, and the forces of humanism are giving us an America few citizens could envision a few short years ago.

Does all this take Almighty God by surprise?  I think not. In fact the Lord says through divine scripture that this great rebellion would take place ultimately ending in that great deceiver of mankind - the Antichrist.

"and now, brothers and sisters, let us tell you about the coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ, and how we will be gathered together to meet him.   For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed - the one who brings destruction - He will exalt himself." (2 Thessa. 2-1,2,3)

Yes, we are seeing this great rebellion against God played out before our very eyes in books, on TV screens, on personal computers, and in our very own friends and relatives.  During World War II the Fuhrer of Germany tried to establish a European superstate and became the dictator of Germany ruling by decree. He envisioned one day standing in triumph over Buckingham Palace and the Statue of Liberty.  This intellectual nation of Germany succumbed to the dark powers of evil that controlled this exalted, hypnotic superman.  Only a few Christians in the confessing church of Germany stood against this evil. The majority of the church leaders allowed their churches to be nazified and took loyalty oaths to Hitler.

Today, multitudes of people's eternal destiny hangs in the balance. The voices they hear are steering them into the infernal regions of the damned.  Who will stand up for the Lord, expose the evil, pay the price, and stand in the gap?   Probably only a small remnant!

Alexander Solzhenitsyn has recently said; "We are approaching a major turning point in the history of civilization. A concentration of world evil, of hatred for humanity is taking place and it is fully determined to destroy your society. The situation in the world is not just dangerous. It isn't just threatening. It is catastrophic."  Solzhenitsyn's words ring true from one who spent some years in the gulags of the USSR.

Our nation which was established to propagate the gospel and to be a refuge for Europeans fleeing from the oppression of state religion and state politics was for many years a city set on a hill to give light to the nations.  Due to our prideful arrogance, moral depravity, stubbornness, self exalting intellectualism, self absorption, materialistic obsession, and humanistic world view we are well on our way back to the darkness of barbaric, pre-christian civilization. In our nation there is a cabal of individuals who have elite positions in academia, the government, the media, the business community, and the military who desire to see our nation and its past Judeo-Christian values subjugated to a socialistic, utopian world federal government. Senator Helms recently warned the United Nations to keep its utopian visions away from American sovereignty.  Helms said that the UN seeks to impose its presumed authority on the American people without their consent and that begs for confrontation.
