The most historic church in Iceland. A 'State' church.
The evangelical movement is stronger now than just a few years ago.
We found many denominations there but mostly Lutheran and Pentecostals.

Such a flat and desolate land, but with it's own beauty. We had such a short time, only one day, in Iceland that all we could see was what we saw from the bus going from the airport into town and back.  We so would have enjoyed visiting other parts of  Iceland. Maybe another day.

So, ok, it's a firetruck.  But I could not resist the title on it. At least you know for sure we were in Iceland.

Our trip was cut short in Iceland as the group we were to meet with was in the midst of a building project as they had moved from one building to another and there was no where to hold the meeting. They were gracious and paid our expenses anyway. They had no way to contact us as we were in Scotland, Ireland and then flew back to Iceland out of England on our way home to Boston.

These trips were a marvelous experience and I truly want to visit all the countries again.
