The Author

Mrs. Milanés and I, Immigrated from Havana, Cuba to this Wonderful Country in the Spring 1957. We came with a Working Contract Document, to work as Medical Laboratory Technologist at St. Francis Hospital, Miami Beach, Florida.

In the Winter of 1962 I graduated as a Cytologist from the School of Cytology in the University of Southern California. Later on, Mrs Milanés (Mireya Lioba) graduated also as a Cytologist from the School of Cytology, University of Miami, Florida.

We had the following Certifications:

Fellowship in the International Academy of Cytology
Associate Membership in the American Society of Cytology
Affiliate Membership in the American Society of Clinical Pathologist

Now that I am retired, from the Medical field: Cytology, I started, in the Spring of 1993, painting most of the cellular pattern: normal and abnormal, that I saw during my working days. These paintings that are done in Acrylic on canvas measuring 16 x 20 inches, show a microscopic view of the cells in a clear circle surrounded by very dark color.

The Bride

She is my love. We met in the dissection room of the anatomy lab Havana University, Me dine School in our first year of schooling. . We married five years later, had three sons and now, nine grandchildren. She is an excellent communicator and few people can surpass her knowledge and understanding of her Hobby: Collecting
Barbie Dolls.
