best of crime log
    -Summer `00

The following has been judged as the Best of Crime Log by Planet Footey. My personal commentary follows some of the entries.

    Thursday, June 1
*2:42 a.m. - An officer reported a gang related disturbance at Rocky Top Books. Additional units were dispatched and the problem was solved.
    (Capulet vs. Montague???)

    Friday, June 2
*11 p.m. - KPD requested assistance with a breaking and entering of a residence on Highland Avenue. An officer was dispatched and the problem was solved.
(kinda written to sound like KPD was breaking into a house and needed UTPD's help to do it .. )

    Saturday, June 3
*3:11 a.m. - An officer was advised of an intoxicated person at Strong Hall. The officer later advised that the subject was in custody.
    (see below ...)

*4:14 a.m. - An officer was out with an intoxicated person at the Police Building. A citation was issued.
(wonder if this is the same person ... arrest them, bring them to the station, report they are there, and issue a citation.)

    Sunday, June 4
*12:25 a.m. - An officer reported that there was an unauthorized person in the pool at the University Club. An additional unit was dispatched and the subject was detained.
(why does it take two units to get someone out of a pool?? btw, who if this person was unauthorized ... who is authorized to swim there at 12:25 at night?)

    Tuesday, June 6
*10:53 a.m. - An officer was requested to check an area due to indecent exposure. It was reported that a male subject had exposed himself at 16th Street and was last seen heading towards Clinch Avenue. KPD was advised. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
(subject was last seen wearing ... nothing)

    Sunday, June 11
*12:39 a.m. - An officer reported some suspicious persons on the top of cars in the Hoskins Library parking lot.
(noticing that suspicious people make the crime log a lot these days ...subjects later reported that they in fact had set out to become suspicious persons on campus, thus hoping to make the summer's crime log without having to do anything that would really get them in trouble.)

    Tuesday, June 20
*1 a.m. - A guard reported a white female urinating on the 3rd floor of the White Avenue Garage.
(interesting ... not very often that you see or hear about a female urinating in public ...)

*8:42 a.m. - An officer was requested due to an auto accident involving a lawn mower. An officer responded and a report was filed.
(an auto accident involving a lawn mower?? ... was there a car involved here??)

    Sunday, June 25
*3:08 p.m. -- A complainant reported that someone had thrown a barbecue grill through the window of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. A report was filed.
    (wonder if it was lit??)

    Tuesday, July 11
*1:35 p.m. - KPD requested assistance with two males trying to jump a train on Cumberland Avenue. An officer responded but was unable to locate the subjects.
(so i take it that the subjects succeeded at jumping the train ... )

*7:12 p.m. - A complainant reported that a water balloon had been thrown through a window at the Golf Range Apartments.
(was the window open??? or was the balloon actually able to not only not bust on impact, but was also able to break a window and somehow avoid the shards of glass??)

    Wednesday, July 12
*9:40 a.m. - An officer was requested due to an older male exposing himself in the rear of Dabney Hall. Officers responded but were unable to locate the subject.
(ok question .... was subject in the rear of dabney hall ... or was he exposing his rear?)

    Friday, July 21
*7:52 a.m. - Some students reported that a male wearing nothing but a green T-shirt was walking outside the Dougherty Engineering building. An officer was dispatched but was unable to locate the subject.
    (no shirt, no service???)

    Monday, July 24
*11:00 p.m. - A conference chaperone reported two juveniles missing from a conference from Krystals.
(subjects were later found in the bathroom ...)

    Friday, August 4
*3:30 p.m. - Parking services reported a vehicle refusing to pay and causing a disturbance at the University Center garage exit. An officer was dispatched and the problem was solved.
(didn't know vehicles had the ability to possess and distribute money ....was the vehicle refusing to pay ... or was it the person inside the vehicle??)
