By Footeygoing postal, a phrase woven into modern american culture, yet not fully understood. what is it about delivering our nations mail that sends individuals to the brink of insanity? are postal workers born disgruntled or are they merely a product of their environment? .... the nature vs. nurture debate rears it's ugly head .... if postal workers are innately disgruntled, what in fact draws them into postal work? on the other hand, there is growing evidence that disgruntled postal workers are indeed a product of their environment ..... the mid april tax rush, the december christmas slam .... can you feel the tension in the air? the dependency of the world on timely and correct postal delivery .... the stress increases another notch. for the brave men and women who deliver mail on foot ..... the elements of weather drain the body day in and day out, angry dogs, and tired feet .... for the men and women who deliver mail in vehicles ..... the cramped claustrophobic space of the mail truck, the inconsiderate drivers, the frustration of driving a eurpean designed vehicle in america .... the steering wheel is on the right and it just don't feel right ...... it's enough to disgruntle anyone!! |
