How
to make christian parents speechless
By Footeyas bobby's mother stared down the hall at him, he knew he was in trouble. just moments before, she had rounded the corner to find bobby writing on the door frame to the front door. she thought bobby knew better .... for he had been warned several times in the past about writing and marking on the walls. in a disciplining tone, bobby's mother asked "what do you think your doing, young man?" ... stating the childhood obvious, bobby replied "writing." as his mother got closer to the door frame she noticed that bobby had wrote the ten commandments on the door frame. shifting her position slightly, she sternly reminded bobby not to mark on the walls and encouraged him to write the tencommandments on a piece of paper she handed him. upon getting home, bobby's father was quickly filled in on the story by bobby's mom at the dinner table. curious, both parents asked bobby why he wrote the ten commandments on the door frame. to which bobby replied, b/c the bible tells me to. both parents stared at each other blankly, as bobby picks up the bible and reads a passage his father had shared with him just nights before... Deuteronomy 6:5-9 "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. these commandments that i give to you today are to be upon your hearts. impress them on your children. talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates." |
