Letter from the Pres.
IN THE WIND SOCIAL CLUB
This is not a "motorcycle club", it is a collection of motorcycle enthusiasts. People who ride now, rode in the past or only dream of riding.
Go back in time with me for just a moment, back before WW11, back before the soldiers returned from the war and started riding for the thrills, back before the "clubs".
Back then a group of motorcycle riders, along with their wife's & girlfriends, would get together, pack a picnic lunch and go tour the country side. Well, today we need not pack a picnic lunch, the roads are loaded with quick stop food joints and high line restaurants. Any direction you go there is an attraction of some kind, some type of activity just waiting over the next hill or around the next curve.
In times past, you were lucky to have a smooth dirt wagon track road to follow. Today we not only have two lane, paved and scenic roads to travel, we are also connected to greater distances by the four lane interstate systems. We can go farther and see more in one day then Great-great granddad could in a week.
Do you find yourself traveling the same roads and going to the same places? Riding alone because of the Hollywood hype of biker gangs? Well, here's the chance to get back to the roots of motorcycling. The leisure rides with pleasant company. The leisure time spent with pleasant friends.
Get off the routine path, venture out into places you haven't been before, do things you haven't done before and do it with friends along for the joy of riding, with friends along to help and to share the experiences with.
