WHO IS TRIUMPH COUNSELING MINISTRIES?
The Triumph
Counseling Ministries, which was founded in 1994 by
Dr. Wayne Upton and his wife,
Dr. Barbara Upton. Triumph
Counseling Ministries specializes in spiritual warfare with the emphasis on
Biblical balance. Counseling is by
appointment only. The Uptons
are members of the
Clay Hills Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Dr. Wayne W. Upton has preached and ministered in churches since 1950. He has
been pastor of Jacksonville Heights Baptist Church from 1977-2005.
His
educational training includes Auburn University, B.S., New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary, New Orleans, La., M. Div., and Luther Rice Seminary, D.
Min., Jacksonville, Fl. He was Director of International Studies at Luther Rice
Seminary and taught Missions, Evangelism, Church Growth and the Occult and World
Religions from 1976-1984. He also
attended and completed all class requirements for a Doctor of Missionology from
the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Il.
Dr.
Barbara H. Upton has a keen interest in writing.
Her educational training includes attending Carson-Newman Baptist
College, Jefferson City, Tenn. in music education and graduating from Southern
Baptist Hospital, New Orleans, La. as a registered nurse.
Barbara attended New Orleans Baptist Seminary, where she met and married
Wayne Upton. Later, she graduated
from Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Fla. with a B. A. and M. A. in
Religious Education and a D. Min. in Religious Education and Counseling.

COUNSELING EXPERIENCE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE
The
Uptons have been actively involved in counseling since 1970 with individuals who
have been involved in drugs and the occult.
They are certified in New Age and Occult/Satanism by the Interfaith
Witness Department of the SBC Home Mission Board and have led conferences in
local churches and associations for adults and youth since 1989.
They have also counseled and ministered to individuals who have been
ritualistically abused and have DID or Multiple Personality Disorders since
1990. The Uptons are not mental
health professionals, but are well acquainted with the spiritual aspects of
these conditions.
