Don Nahser is many things to the Alpharetta City Band. He is foremost our program director and liason with the Alpharetta Parks and Recreation Department. He also provides refreshments during halftime breaks in the two-hour Wednesday night rehearsals, and he occasionally serves as a "supplemental auxiliary percussionist"--cracking a whip for Christmas sleigh ride songs, or playing the "B flat blender" for a piece titled "A Kitchen Serenade." The band is a Nahser family affair. Don's wife Eileen plays the clarinet and sometimes conducts. Daughters Nancy and Donna played with the band before leaving for college.
