"THANK-YOU" A FAN WEB

| To quote, in my book, the
preeminent and funniest working comedian today
"Thank-You." If you are already a Jay London fan then you have surfed into
another true fans web site of his brand of comedy. If you, Rodney Dangerfield
forbid, have not
had the privilege to witness the genius of Jay London in action then I hope this
web site will
peak your interest to add some Jay London humor to your life.
Jay London has performed professionally for 19 years, but his calling wasn't always apparent. "I was always an eccentric, Salvador Dali-type kid. I was never really a comic. I was a dramatic little runt," he says. London, who supported himself as a New York cab driver for more than 12 years, vividly remembers how he developed his self-effacing routine. "The act actually came when I worked Jimmy's Comedy Alley on a New Year's Eve. And I'm not a New Year's Eve act. I had stuff thrown at me. There was a piano on the stage, and it was open. And I asked someone if I put my head inside the piano if they could crush it for $100. That got a laugh."
I first became aware of this comedian from his appearance on the NBC show
"Last Comic Standing II" in August of 2004. I found his humor
to be very analytical and along the lines of George Carlin and Steven Wright. The
technique Jay chooses to
entertain with is not for everyone as it requires, in my
onion, for the audience to think. Jay's usual thoughtful
and sometimes deep one-liners leave
some of my family members smelling singed hair as he zings another humorous
insight at us that goes over their head. |
