Squire David Jamison was born circa 1808 at Chester County, SC.
He was the son of Gardner Jamison (Sr?) and Sarah Jamison.
Squire David Jamison was "Session met at Catholic and representation having been made of unchristian conduct on the part of John Caskey and also of Squire David Jamison, it was determined, before proceeding any further with these persons, to appoint a committee consisting of James King, and Moses Robinson to call on Squire Jamison and converse with him on the subject, and request to meet with session at the Upper Church on next Sabbath, Jan 5th. 1845. And John Genthrop and Squire William Hemphill were appointed a committee to converse priviately with John Caskey and endever to bring him to a sense of his duty, and report to the session. From page# 14 of The Minutes of Catholic Presbyterian Church.1 He was " Session met at Upper Catholic. Squire David Jamison appeared according to the request of Session previously intimated and expressed his willingness that the Session should proceed in his case without the usual form of citation either for himself or witnesses. And after full and free conference in relation to the charge of using intoxicating drink to excess he freely confessed that at the time specified and on some othe occassions he may have taken too much. He, however, expressed his determination with the help of God to avoid every similar offense against the rules of the church and the laws of the Bible. First to my son George Cherry I leave five shillings sterling and to my son John Cherry I leave my Stamp or five shillings in money and to my daughter Sarah Cherry I leave a three year old sorel filley and her choice of one cow and calf with her bed and furniture with her whisle(?) and side saddle, and to my son William Cherry I leave ten pounds in money and no more, and to my daughter Jennet Cherry I leave twelve pounds in money and no more, and to my son Jamison I leave my plantation, and to my son Greg Cherry I leave as much money as the price of my plantation, and to my sons Jamison and Greg Cherry and my wife Letty Cherry I leave the Rest of all my goods and property provided that she remains in widowhood and if she the said Letty Cherry gets married I do leave and bequeath the above mentioned remaind of all my goods and property to s'd Greg and John Cherry, and as for my negro Prince I leave him to John Cherry for the sum of sixty Guineas to pay my lawful debts while the said John Cherry is to pay to the Executor of Robert Cherry the rest of his price to be Divided as above mentioned and Lastly I leave my wife Letty Cherry and John Cherry as Executors of my Estate In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
