Jane Jamieson left a will on 1 February 1855; Transcribed Will of Jane Jamieson, Chester County, SC., signed 1 Feb 1855 by Cecil A.(Sandy) Jamison, Jr. 06/27/2003 State of South Carolina, Chester District Know all men by those present that I, Jane Jamieson, widow of John Jamieson decest. Being perfect in mind and memory, knowing the uncertainty of life being thankful for Mercy bestowed on me in this life, Death this day make the following Will and bequeath to my named children viz: 1# Item I give my Soul up into the hands of God who gave it and my body I resign to the earth to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executor. 2nd Item I give and bequeath to my son James Jamieson my Negro boy Jack, and one half of my plantation and the one half of the stock and the first child a year old my Negro girl Emmaline has. 3rd Item I give to my daughter Mary G. Jamieson my Negro girl Ann(?), her deducting the amount of the part of her part I owe the Estate out of her value. Also I give her the right her lifetime of remaining on my house and to have the right to make a support on my plantation her lifetime and at her death or removal to be in the right of my two sons James and William Jamieson. 4th Item I give and bequeath to my son William C. Jamieson the one half of my plantation, except the house and lifetime right above named, also I give him my Negro girl Emaline him to pay out of her value what I owe to the estate with what my daughter Mary pays.
