Why?
Why do we do this? Well to start off with, we have a natural urge to
explore things. Humans are by nature quite curious, especially as
children. Yet many people look down on those who don't outgrow the
childhood tendencies of questioning things and exploring the world around
them, letting their sense of wonder and adventure guide their actions.
Adults are not supposed to wonder about what is beyond that "Authorized
Entry Only" sign or inside of that abandoned building. Some of us can't
help but wonder what lies beyond the limits of the safe and sanitized
world that most of us live in. In the past, these were the people who
populated the wild west and explored the depths of space. Today, there are
not nearly as many frontiers left, and most of us don't have the means
(financial or otherwise) to venture to the few places that remain unseen
by human eyes. So we turn to the rooftops, storm drainage systems, and
long forgotten buildings of the world around us. Sure, the thrill of being in places that we aren't supposed to be plays a
factor in why we do this. Many of these places can also be the setting for
some amazing pictures.
There's also the aspect of facing the fear of the unknown and the risk of getting caught,
which many people enjoy. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and seeing
our pictures as much as we enjoy going on the adventures that spawn
them... |
