This is a 12 point rossette with a little more added to the perimiter. This carving makes a pretty plaque or plate. Or you could put it on a kitchen trivet. It is about 8 inches in diameter. Note the neat little 12 point rossette in the center. I like to leave this rossette as it provides a nice center point of the whole carving. You can carve this pattern 1000's of ways. Use your imagination. Make sure your remain consistant once you decide on your strategy.

This pattern was used on the side of the Egyption Clock set shown in Gallery 3. You can use only the rossette or do the whole thing. The dimentions actually used on the clock was 5.5 by 5.5 inches. Scale it to fit your wood and give it a go. Since the center gets rather busy, I suggest leaving the small center rossette.
This carving would also make a pretty plaque or plate. As with most chip carving patterns they can be carved many ways. I will change this patten some time in the future.
