What's Here:
To HTML HTML |
I have embarked on a series of pages that take you through the basic aspects of creating a web page. You will be able to have something in front of you in a very short time. It will be necessary for you to come back from time to time in order to view the complete series as it is currently in the development stages. There are, however, enough pages to get you started. Be patient and practice what I am able to show you at this time. After all, this is free and I do have a job that pays the bills. One thing that you should keep in mind is that there is a big difference between a personal page and a page that you do for some one else or a business (even your own). In a personal page you don't have to worry about browser compatability or how fast your page loads or if you have too many animated graphics. It's your page and probably mainly for family and friends-you can do what you want. Now on the other hand, a page that is done for hire or a page promoting your business, civic organization, or club is another story. There are many more things to consider before placing that kind of page on the net. Browser compatability and down load times are very important. Who likes waiting for a page to down load? Ease of navigation is important in any site, but much more so in a business site or a site made for some one else. Just think of sites that you have been to and then just left because you couldn't get around the site, it took too long to load, or you just couldn't figure out what the purpose of the site was. Examplkes of what not to do. I think you get the idea-practice your new found hobby, it does make close to perfect HTML: The Basics
Cut-n-Paste HTMLThis section contains links to some cut-n-paste HTML code. In this section I will try to place some code that I find useful. I will also place code that isn't very common, but is used from time to time as well as code that beginners may want for their pages. Some code such as lists and tables aren't used very often by most beginners or those wanting a small personal page, but are needed just the same so instead of spending time trying to learn how to code these items you will be able to cut-n-paste the code you want right into your pages. Just fill in the blanks and you're good to go! HTML GeneratorI have included a HTML Generator, supplied by SearchBliss. This is a fully functional generator and will help you create the HTML code needed to produce a web page. This generator does not have all the bells and whistles that some other editing programs have, but then again it does not have their price tags either. This generator is not the end all for HTML, but rather a tool to get you started on your way to becoming a webmaster and proficient hand coder.
