Marvel vs DC

Modeling Project

This is a step-by-step description of the diorama that I decided to build for the Toy Biz Club's 'Marvel vs DC' contest. My idea is to have two models 'at each others throats'. I want actual contact between the characters, not just building the two kits and placing them on the same base. I always like to try something new or different on each modeling project that I build. This will be my first attempt at customizing the position of the figures and my first attempt at making a brick wall.

My choices for this project
are Iron Man and Batman Knightsend 1/8 scale models. The Iron Man model is resin and by an unknown manufacturer. The Knightsend is vinyl and was produced by Horizon. As you can see both kits are in a standing position and I will reposition them for the diorama.

What I want is to have Iron Man flying up at Batman as Batman is leaping off the side of a building. This will make for a dramatic diorama. I will mount Iron Man on a brass rod, lifted slightly above the base and Batman will be mounted to the edge of a wall by one foot with the other out in mid-air. This will require significant changes to the Iron Man kit and minor changes to the Batman kit. Follow the links below to checkout the work on each kit.
