Back in Shanghai with Vv and Lili - We had huo guo or hot pot. The table has a
large hole in the center, with a burner below. A pot of broth is
boiled, and we ordered meat and vegetables, which we put into the
pot to boil. It was delicious.

from its cage, which was suspended outside an apartment window
across the alley.

She really was having fun.

A hutong, or alley. Each alley has entrances
to apartments and is like a small community.

Steamed buns - bread which is steamed in bamboo baskets.
So good!

Fresh melons and fruit were plentiful
in markets and on the street.

All good things must eventually come to an end.

Jet-lagged and no sleep for 32 hours.
It was good to get home, but I'm ready to go back again!
