China: A Journey for Hope

China: A Journey for Hope

Welcome. Come in. Would you like coffee? Or perhaps some tea? Also I have a box of friendship chocolates to share with everyone. Can you hear the music? It is "Mandarin Dream".

I hope you enjoy the pictures from my "dream trip". It was a dream come true for me. In another, more important way for another person, it was the affirmation, the proof, that a dream can come true, as it did in Beijing in November 2000. I pray that hope will now be alive in his heart and that he will never stop hoping, trusting for his tomorrow, and that his ultimate dream will some day come true.

I thank my friends, Dottie and Andy, for their friendship during the journey. We had some memorable moments together. I thank my Chinese friends, especially Vv John, Eric, Lili, Xiu Yuan, Yan Ping, Peng Xian, and all their families for their warm hospitality, help, information and food (REAL Chinese food!).

I especially thank my Chinese "daughter" and "son", Sun Zhe and Fu, for it was during the months they lived with us that the idea and the desire to travel to China began. I love them dearly and still miss them every day.
