Learning to Play: Symbolic importance of play; safety in the play environment; rules; opening and closing circles. The nature and structure of support groups; support groups at The Center.
Policies and Procedures for the Facilitator: Job description, roles, responcibilites, safety measures, confidentiality and cosistency issues, contracts.

Following the completion of training, individuals are placed contingent on group needs and the individual's time availibility.
An Introduction to The Grief Center: Basic Philosophy of the Grief Center; history of the Grief Center; overview of the program.
Grief as a Multi-Dimensional Process: Physical, social, and cultural meanings of death; tour of funeral home; my loss/your loss; grief and social identity; grief as a physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual journey; children's grief; children's grief work.
Learning to Listen to Self/to Others: Developing awareness of self and tohers; Am I safe? Are you safe? What do I want? What do you want? Communicating through words; communicating through behaviors; reflecting/being relected.
