Here are the proportions for a perfect classical boy figure... in centimeters. Working in centimeters allows for consistancy and accuracy in measuring that, in my opinion, cannot be matched working in inches.
| chin to top of the head | 17 centimeters |
| widest part of forehead | 12.5 centimeters |
| widest part of cheeks | 12 centimeters |
| center of eye to chin bottom | 8.7 Centimeters |
| center eye to other eye center | 6 centimeters |
| depth of head at deepest point | 15.4 centimeters |
| chin to bottom of neck | 6.5 to 7 centimeters |
In 1996, at the 2nd Puppetfest, I gave a lecture on incorporating marionette's into an act and passed out these two sheets on constructing a professional sized marionette. Feel free to select these thumbnails and save the large size JPEG files to print out.

A good source of marionette information is Marionettes - How To Make And Work Them by Helen Fling and published by Dover Publications, Inc., New York.
