BLACK MOUNTAIN -- Betty Lois Zick, 72, of View Street, Black Mountain, died Thursday at the Laurels at Summit Ridge in Asheville.
She was the daughter of the late Jack Bedford and Martha Bedford and was the wife of the late Robert Zick. She was a nurse with the Veterans Hospital system working in Dallas, Texas, and Asheville until her retirement. She loved to go to estate sales and collect antique dolls. She loved all animals but especially dogs. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Emory of Black Mountain, Judy O'Conner of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Joe Nichols of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Frances Armstrong of Goldsboro, Alice Wethington and her husband, Howard of Raleigh; brothers, J.A. Bedford and his wife, Shirley of Goldsboro, Robert Bedford and his wife, Sharon of West Hills, California.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Goldsboro.
