Engine assembly is coming
together. After the upper intake has been assembled, I started to
work on the driveline assembly.
Since I didn't take pictures,
here's what was done.
-
Replaced Bearing:
Since I didn't have the proper tool, Tim beat it out with a hammer
& chisel.
-
Installed Flywheel:
Resurfaced flywheel looked brand new and was a quick install
-
Installed Clutch:
No problem...easier than I thought.
-
Installed Bellhousing:
6 quick bolts and it's in.
-
Installed Transmission:
What a pain! It wasn't going in like we thought. After a
few attempts, we put it in as much as possible and then started to
tighten the bolts. It locked right into position.

| Here's a
shot of the engine...ready to be installed |
 |
Installed the
Steering Shaft Cover and began the brake line bleeding...what a
bitch! At first nothing was pumping, so I read the
instructions...I forgot to prime the pump. Fluid started
pumping and the leaks started flowing. It helps to
remember to tighten the fittings. I still have a leak in
the rear, but I'll deal with that soon. |
Engine
Installation Day has arrived!

|
Tim (Toolman) &
Ron came over to help. After we lifted the engine and changed
the oil pan gaskets, we began the process of installation. |
You can see
Tim's Cobra in the driveway. |
|

|
| It took
about 20 minutes, and a little bit of twisting, but the engine
went in without any major hurdles |
