The three bright stars comprise the belt of Orion the Hunter. You can just make out the Flame Nebula to the left of the leftmost belt star, and just below it is IC434 aka the Horsehead Nebula. You can also see the Great Orion Nebula in the sword of orion hanging below the belt.
