Click on the picture to the left to view the track plan for my layout. There are three loops of track with turnouts
that allow trains traveling in either direction to switch to any loop. The 2 outside loops will rise to an elevation of
about 7 inches at the back of the layout table. The inside loop will travel under the 2 outer loops and will also lead to a yard
area. I eventually plan to add a fourth loop on a higher level above the right hand side of the layout. My initial plans for
scenery include a city on the left, an industrial area in the center, and mountains on the right and rear of the layout. Excluding
the yard area, the layout will be about 45 feet long and between 5 and 12 feet wide. The 2 outer loops will have only O-90 and
O-81 curves.
I am constructing the benchwork (see picture below) using the L-girder method.
