Warning Description: High Wind Watch

WarningSum:...High Wind Watch Remains In Effect From Wednesday Morning
Through Late Wednesday Night...
Warning Message:A high wind watch remains in effect from Wednesday morning
through late Wednesday night for much of the Interstate 85
corridor in the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia...as well
as Habersham County Georgia and Graham County North Carolina.
Strong northwest winds are expected to develop across the region
on Wednesday and continue for most of Wednesday night. Sustained
wind speeds will range from 30 to 40 mph...with gusts up to 60
mph possible.
Recent precipitation and cool temperatures have kept soil very
moist across the region. The combination of wet soil and strong
gusty winds could result in significant damage to trees and power
lines.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph...or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.
