Course Description: Exploring Career Decisions

Career awareness and exploration actually begin at a young age – at least informally – through parents, role models and the media. This curriculum offers a formal course for exploring careers. Content of this curriculum deals directly with career exploration including self-knowledge, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. Today young people can choose from a broader range of career opportunities than ever before.

This semester course is designed to provide an orientation to the world of work. Experiences are designed to introduce students to the technical nature of today’s world and the role of productive workers. Activities enable students to increase self-awareness and make wise educational and occupational decisions. The formal career planning process can begin with this course.
