In the woodworking course, students will produce a table with adjustable shelves. In order to accomplish this task the students practice many skills and are introduced to tools, equipment, materials and procedures. Among the skills that students will evaluate and practice are: visualization and design of a product, the drawing of the product using both manual and computer aided drafting, safe working skills, correct procedures in using both hand held and stationary equipment, and math skills (measurement, fractions, geometry) . Finishing techniques will be studied and practiced to both beautify and protect the final product. Digital photography will be practiced to place production and final product images on our website. Teamwork skills will be practiced to expedite production, enhance safety and to create a more enjoyable working environment.
