PROFILE: After failing to save Nebulon from the devastating Decepticon attack, and shame upon nearly beating Deinonycon to death out of pure rage, Rodimus Prime decided he needed to come to grips with his new fused Spark and all the changes that had taken place with his core personality. Rodimus Prime then handed the Matrix over to Grimlock for safekeeping...nobody expected what happened next. When Grimlock placed the Matrix into his built-in annex, a strange transformation took place. In addition to becoming larger and more powerful, Grimlock gained a new dragon alternate mode and discovered his viral speech impediment gone. Communing mentally with the Matrix, Grimlock learned he had not become a Prime, but had been deemed suitable by the Matrix itself, and by that, upgraded to better protect and utilize it. Grimlock's arrogance and self-confidence has also become a great weapon, countering Unicron's imprisoned dark essence with a stubborn wall of will that the Chaos Bringer can't seem to penetrate. Now leading the Autobots in their struggles against the Decepticons, Grimlcok still accepts Rodimus Prime's guidance and council while the former leader sorts out his own being.

ABILITIES: Imbued with Matrix energies, Grimlock has power like never before. His dragon mode is capable of atmospheric and interplanetary flight at speeds comparable to some mid-sized starships. Grimlock has also discovered that with some creative acrobatics, his wings can be used effectively as blades. The dragon's mouth is also a powerful plasma blaster. Variable blast settings can emit anything from a pinpoint surgical stream to a power blast strong enough to destroy a small moon. The claw set into the tail can also be used to create and toss concentrated spheres of electrical energy capable of zapping an enemy into stasis lock. Grimlock can also tap into the powers inherent in the Autobot Creation Matrix, although at this point he is only beginning to understand how to utilize it.
