FUNCTION: Infiltrator, Assassin

PROFILE: At the conclusion of the Battle of Nebulon, Rodimus Prime and his Autobot forces flew to the Hive Moon to confront the Decepticons before they could escape after their devastating attack on Nebulon's surface. By the time they arrived, Shockwave had already left with the bulk of his forces, however Deinonycon had stayed behind to present Prime with a "gift". Upon opening the standard looking cargo container, Rodimus Prime was horrified to discover that it contained the severed heads of hundreds of Nebulans, every descendant of the Nebulans who had participated in the Headmaster, Targetmaster, and Powermaster processes. The fiery portion of Prime's personality that was what lingered of Hot Rod's spark rose to the fore, and Rodimus Prime proceeded to brutally beat Deinonycon to pieces with his bare fists. Smashing the Decepticon to near death, Prime realized how his anger had gotten the better of him and how by beating the killer to death he would just hand Deinonycon another victory. To somewhat correct his misstep, Prime used the power of the Creation Matrix to heal and repair Deinonycon, what he did not expect was for Unicron's dark essence to intervene. Fighting from his imprisonment inside the Matrix, Unicron added his own Chaos energies to the Matrix power. The result was Deinonycon being resurrected stronger and more powerful than before. After a short time in Autobot custody, the reborn Decepticon escaped during an attack on the Autobot starship by the Cobracons. The resurrection through the Matrix power also served to give his mind a tighter focus and clarity. Returning to his Great War roots, Deinonycon is now the Decepticon's top sniper and assassin. He hunts in the darkness and shadows and kills without a trace of his presence. He is still a skilled and deadly hand-to-hand fighter and does not shy away from physical combat. Whether striking with his claws or rifle, Deinonycon is now deadlier then ever.

ABILITIES: Deinonycon's body is covered in a special sensor baffling coating that renders him undetectable to all but visual scanning, as well as the ability to hide his heat signature from detection. His claws, teeth, tail and body spines are composed of a rare super-strong alloy that can slice through almost any known substance with minimal resistance. Imbedded in his tail is a high-powered sniper blaster rifle that fires a magnetically sealed non-injected (colorless) charge over great distances and can penetrate almost any armor. Rifle is flash suppressed and silenced. The rifle has a slow fire rate and the power pack and gas cartridge must be replaced after ten shots. Deinonycon's left eye doubles as a specialized sight for the rifle and it is linked to the weapon simply by Deinonycon holding it.

WEAKNESSES: Deinonycon avoids using the blades on his tail as a melee weapon because doing so requires more frequent alignment of the tail rifle's stabilizing gyros and sighting components.
