CENTURION

ALLEGIANCE: FUNCTION: PROFILE: The Centurion Mark XVIII Anti-Transformer
Warmech is the mainline combat unit used by the Kingdom of Allah in their newly
declared fatwa of Jihad on any and all Cybertronians throughout the galaxy.
Based on a design originally used by the United States, and later by the United
Nations of Earth, the Centurion series of warmechs has been continuously
upgraded and strengthened over the past four and a half centuries so that now
each mech is capable of holding its own and often defeating any given
Transformer in singular combat. Typically working in squads of five, the
Centurions are remotely controlled by pilots with specially designed
enhancement nano implanted into their brains. The pilots are also immersed
inside tubes of reaction gel, which works in conjunction with the nano-implants
to translate the combat movements of the pilots exactly to the Centurion
without any perceptible lag and with full fluidity. Kingdom of Allah Centurion
squads have not yet pushed farther then the few systems that neighbor Sol yet,
but as the Jihad continues they will draw ever closer to Cybertron, and into
more frequent and more deadly contact with the Cybertronians themselves.
ABILITIES: Each Centurion is capable of carrying a variety
of weapon loads or mission-specific armament. However, the typical load-out
consists of one heavy plasma rifle with variable rate settings and sniper
capabilities as well as a forearm mounted hyper-velocity projectile cannon
topped by a pair of point-defense lasers. The left forearm usually mounts a
heavy blaster cannon flanked by a pair of high-explosive short-range seeker
missiles. To prevent capture or dishonor of the remote pilots, each Centurion
frame is capable of detonating its own fusion core when the mech is
incapacitated or otherwise unable to continue fighting. In-built safety
interlocks do prevent the core from detonating when friendly unites are within
the half megaton force blast range.
WEAKNESSES: The Mark XVIII Centurion models can be rendered
inert by destroying or removing the head, even to the point of disabling the
self-destruct systems. Also, as time progresses the existing robots are slowly
wearing out and suffering for lack of proper maintenance and a lack of skilled
technicians. The Kingdom of Allah is incapable of manufacturing or upgrading
Centurions on their own and the supply they inherited from the defunct UNE is
slowly dwindling.
