Becky, What more can I rite. Shall I close and not fill out this paper. I will try to fill out. I cannot joke. For God noes, if any Many can come here and See the Suffering of human beings And then Write jokes and nonsense back home, I dont no what kind of a heart he has, I went to one Hospittle yesturday to See for my own Self, Their were 27 men in it Sick. Their disease Was from Measels down to the rottonest disease that Man can take, from (women). Their are five hospittals here, all full of Sick. Mostly measels, Some Mumps, I have had both long years ago. I believe I can live here as healthy as I can at home, But if I do get Sick, I Shall either get furlow for home, or go out in the Country, I shall not go the the Hospittle, But give yourself no uneasyness about my Sickness. I will take care of Myself. If I am not killed by the enemy, I Shall, God being willing, See you all again. Then I can tell more about our affairs here. Fanty, I am So glad you Said you Would mind Mar. You are a good little boy. Par wants you to do good to all the little boys, Dont fight, But dont let no boy impose on you. Alis I no you can be smart. But Alis will you quit pouting at the table if you Will, Par will give you a pretty When he comes home, Alis save me some taters. Make me a Scrap quilt and learn to nit.

But I Would be perfectly willing to have my life takened, if it Would Stop this War. Yes anything for peace would I give. Becky I left some business unsettled which I ought now to mention. Mr. Watts owes me a little I dont no What, But he nowes, H. Gandy got $6.75 cts for taking negro to jail. $2.25 cts is what was coming to me. Pet owes me for rent of land, $30. I only mention these things that you may no and that I left no account of it at home, and It might be possible that I Should never get back. Now Dearest one of all others, I bid you good by. May Heavens blessings rest upon you. May he protect you in all your troubles, Is the prayr of one who loves you.
Adline do right evry time and all the time. dont for Gods Sake jaw you Miss Becky, I dont believe you will do any thing that I dont want you to do. Becky, I will Say again if you cannot get along, Get some one to fill my place and I will come home, I do not regret coming. My country needs me, and if their is not a change Soon it will need evry Man. Oh My Dear Becky, It Grieves me to See or heare of one of the Members of our Church doing Wrong here. J. S., A Brother of our church, is a regular Gambler here, Pray for his family, He has lost money Since here; More than once he has Gambled till just before day. It does no good to talk to him. He has been Sick the last few days, I hope it will Stop him. Dont Say any thing about it. If he has the wife I think he has It would Mortify her feelings very much. Give my respect to all. Tell Uncle Tho- Charly Pet and H to write to me. I cannot write to them all, let them read mine and write in return.
