Camp Moor La.

Nov 14th / 62

Pa I will write you a few lines this morning to let you know how I am getting along. I am well and still at Camp Moor or Tangipaho. I was not able to march through and went to the commander of the post and got detailed to stay and guard baggage. I think we will get waggons in a few days or so to take us through. Bil Goodwin, Frank Davis and Charly Gardner is here. Gen. Villepigue's remains passed through here the other day. Gen. Beal is in command at Port Hudson. they say it is very sickly down there they are all having the chills. We will get our things that was left at Jackson there has been a man sent after them. I have a shirt and bobtail coat there. It rained here yesterday and last night and to day it is turning coal. you can send my overcoat when John Wilson comes we have all got uniforms blue pants and grey jackets - it will be taken out of our _____tation money. I think $21 Dollars is what we will have to pay for them. It looks like we will never get straightened out I wish our regt was filled up but I am afraid it never will be. if it is to be consolidated I want to be with a Mississippi regt if you answer this letter direct it to Tangipaho La and if I leave it can be forwarded to me. I don't know how long we will stay here. I would like mighty well to hear from Cope and Joe again. I wrote them to them the other day. I dreamt last night that somebody had stole ____ or _____ was taking him off. Our rashions are very scanty down here the Beef is Poor, so poor they are dying every day. you was talking of sending me something by John Knight I am in hopes you found out I was gone before you sent them. I am not kneeding any thing now but I will if it turns colder. I will get my shirt and coat that was at Jackson and then the uniform we will get will be about as much as I can toat. Gen. Beal is not in command at Port Hudson. Col. Tralls of Tenn is in command. I expect Col. Simonton will be when he gets there I will close - give my love to all
