HomeWorks is found here,
come and check it out!
This is my home finance record keeping, tracking and reporting software application expressly for Macintosh users. ( It's not a port from another platform! )
I was born in my grandmother's living room, in a little settlement called Harrison, just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Here I was raised my first 8 years, then I was moved to Oklahoma where I spent three wonderful and carefree years before returning to Tennessee. A year later, off to Miami, Florida for three great years and again, at age 15, back to Tennessee. From there I graduated high school and joined the Navy.
While in the Navy, I was introduced to electronics technology and I really went for it in a big way. I was fascinated by the technology. After completing the Navy Electronics courses and settling down at my duty station, I purchased a home correspondence course from CREI (Capitol Radio Engineering Institute) and began a serious study of engineering principles. I was enthralled! I entertained dreams of becoming a NASA Engineer. When NASA was scaled down so much after the Apollo program, those dreams died.
After the Navy I moved to Orlando, Florida where my parents were living. Then to St. Cloud FL, where I joined in a partnership and we created "Gentronics Co." This did not satisfy me, so in time I sold out and in 1975, I moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. There, two wonderful things happened, I met my wife and we were blessed with a beautiful daughter. While in Tennessee, I found a great little book titled, "An Introduction To MicroComputers", by Adam Osborne. I was fascinated and wanted very much to get involved in this new technology, so I studied, I just couldn't afford it yet.
In 1980, I found employment with Walt Disney World so My wife, my daughter and I moved back to Orlando, Fl. where we bought our current home. Our new neighbor, a very savy Computer Engineer, encouraged me to buy an Apple II computer, so with my wife's blessing, I did. I have been hooked since.
I concentrated my efforts on programming. I migrated up to the Apple IIGS and wrote a commercial program and named it "Font Finder". Alas, when the Apple IIGS market was squeezed out by the Macintosh and PC, with their hot competition for market dominance, this little piggy didn't make it to market.
After some time passed, and after seeking my wife's agreement, I bought my first Macintosh, a Performa PowerPC. I then began the creation of HomeWorks. I retired from Walt Disney World and in 2002, finished it. Now, to market!
