Finding Educational Resources on the Internet

This page was designed for those who want to use the Internet for locating educational resources. It is a "jumping off point" and is not intended to be a comprehensive list.

Internet resources include indexes; printed, audio, and visual materials that have been converted to electronic format; and many other treasures unavailable elsewhere. It is a dynamic resource that changes daily. While those who use this page may refer back here often, it is hoped they will soon become proficient at finding information on their own.

Using Telnet

Telnet is used to connect to a host computer anywhere in the world and use that computer as if you were sitting at a terminal close to the computer. If you are authorized to use the computer, you can "log in" as if you were sitting at a terminal at that institution or company. Often you can "http" to a machine using Netscape more easily than you can Telnet to a machine. To use Telnet, you must have a Telnet client loaded on your machine.
