A Trip "Up East" and into Canada

Come take a trip with me "Up East" and into Canada.

In 1964 we went "Up East" and on into Canada, camping along the way. We went through Washington, D. C., and watched the New York Yankees play baseball (this was during their hey day) against the now defunct Washington Senators.

In New York City we did all the "touristy" things, once again attending several Yankees games. You must remember that this was before our beloved Atlanta Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta.

The New York World's Fair of '64 and '65 was in session, so naturally we went to it. We saw the Radio City Hall Rockettes and rode out to the Statue of Liberty.

We toured Boston and saw Plymouth Rock. Of course, no trip would be complete without seeing the Old North Church of "one if by land and two if by sea" fame. Eating lobster in Maine and visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dysart of Dysart's Motel (my maiden name, but they were not relatives as far as we could determine) were other activities we enjoyed.

Niagara Falls was beautiful, awesome, and interesting.

In Canada we camped in Mont Blanc Provincial Park and saw several of the big cities, including Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, and Toronto.

On the way back we saw Mammoth Cave--an interesting excursion!
