            this is at 9 feet from the toroid to a grounded rod ( the toroid had a breakout "point" to confine streamers)
 
 

                an interesting picture of 3 streamers "attacking " the ground rod at 7 feet distance
 
 
 

                thinner streamers at 10 feet from the toroid to the ground rod
 
 
 

            nice arc of the streamer   ground rod at 10 feet from toroid so we can assume the total length of streamer to be near 12 feet
 
 
 

                this is what 33KV can do to G-10 colored phenolic  this item "was" a heat barrier/insulator from the UHMW plastic and the electrode holder

                the ratings for this stuff is supposed to be good to 50KV but......
