4/27/03 - We had our 4th annual Vaughan family reunion yesterday. The crowd was slimmer than usual, but we still had a good time. We met our cousin Tim Atkinson from Texas who'd been put up for adoption as an infant and was just recently reunited with his birth mother, sister, and two brothers not to mention the whole bunch of us yesterday. He was quite overwhelmed by all of us I think. The Vaughan's are a loquacious bunch. I also met Wanda's brother Gary who lives in Georgia (and yeah, they do talk differently in Georgia than Alabama and Mississippi, lol.) Wanda's in charge of putting the reunion together every year and she does a great job. We'd stopped having them when our grandmother died in 1970 until four years ago and I've only missed one. Oh, yeah, and I saw John for the first time in ages, who was married to my cousin Kathy for thirty years till they divorced and remarried around Christmas time. It seems so right for them to be back together! |

The fun thing about getting older is that the age difference doesn't matter so much anymore and I get to know some of these people I didn't know as a kid.I didn't get everyone, but
