This picture was taken in 1896 and was submitted to the Daily Leader of Brookhaven, Mississippi by Butler Reeves.
It's amazing that my husband is not a Reeves descendant or, if he is, I haven't found a connection yet. The story is told that in about 1811, the Reeves and Moak's settled and lived across the creek (now Moak's Creek) from each other in what was then Amite (now Lincoln County, Mississippi) and put a foot log across the creek to go back and forth. Thus all the Moak and Reeves marriages.
