He strolls down the street, and smiles to himself.
As he looks to the right, and he looks to the left.
It's all just a part of the master plan,
One of these days he'll own this town.
His senses are reeling, there's a fire in his eyes!
And a sweet taste of power he tries to deny, he lies!
He's alone in his world, but not lonely, instead,
He's glad there's no one, to see inside his head.
There isn't much he wouldn't do for a pocket full of gold.
But at least for the moment he still owns his soul.
And the soul has a hunger, nay, a passion on his part,
That has nothing to do with love or the heart.
There's a great big wonderful world out there.
And he's bound and determined he'll have his share!
He fights a good battle and he runs a good race,
But first and foremost, is the thrill of the chase!
Each victory he savors, with an ectasy akin,
to the soaring of eagles, or dancing with the wind.
He walks down to the corner, and he looks up and down,
At all his possessions, a man and his town!
There's already a far away look in his eyes,
And a restlessness he's trying hard to deny!
He lies!!!
