For every day that you may be sad,
I wish for you a sunrise to make you glad.
A blue sky to chase all your cares away,
a sunset at the end of a perfect day.
To give you hope and push away the gloom,
a buttercup, a rainbow, a rose in bloom.
On a cold winter's night, or the first day of spring,
I wish you a happy song to sing.
If a painful memory should come to prey,
A soft summer rain to wash it away.
From the path of good fortune, may you never depart,
always face each tomorrow with a song in your heart.
A goal to give you purpose, through trouble and strife.
A faith to sustain you for all of your life.
When you've learned to enjoy all the simple things above,
Pass them on down to someone you love.
